An egg’s greatest strength is it’s versatility. Because they can be prepared in so many different ways, eggs find themselves in all types of foods. Here at Farmer Boy Eggs, we take pride in ensuring that our customers receive the finest eggs on the market. Without further adieu, let’s take a look at some famous foods in which eggs have a cameo.

French Vanilla Ice Cream

French vanilla ice cream, not to be confused with its mediocre counterpart, plain vanilla ice cream, is the most elegant ice cream you can get. The key ingredient is the custard base that’s made with egg yolks which gives this ice cream that coveted, creamy texture. Drizzle some caramel on top along with some rainbow sprinkles to create the perfect dessert.

Marshmallows

Without eggs, there are no marshmallows. Without marshmallows, there are no s’mores. And without s’mores, there are no campfires. That’s right, eggs play a key role in one of the world’s favorite outdoor snacks. Marshmallows are made by mixing gelatin, water, sugar, corn syrup and egg whites together. According to the National Confectioners Association, marshmallows used to be made by mixing mallow root sap, egg whites and sugar into a fluffy mold. Later on, the French added cornstarch to speed up the production process and give marshmallows their unique form.

Snickers

Hungry? Well thanks to eggs, you can grab a Snickers. Snickers bars boast a star-studded lineup of ingredients including chocolate, peanuts, caramel, and nougat. While all of these ingredients are key players in America’s favorite candy bar, nougat is the real MVP. Nougat is made by whipping egg whites, sugar, and honey together.

Egg Bagels

Unless you’re a true New Yorker, bagels seem like a pretty basic food. When you factor egg yolks into the equation however, you get a fresh, tasty product. The egg yolks give these bagels a nice golden tint along with a chewy texture that pairs fantastically with a thin layer of cream cheese and lox. To really harness the power of eggs, throw some bacon, a fried egg and some cheese in between egg bagel slices to create the ultimate BEC sandwich.

French Toast

Last on this list, and certainly not least, we have French Toast. French Toast is the undisputed king of breakfast foods. While Snickers bars contain all-star ingredients, French Toast rolls out with a lineup of hall-of-famers. We have cinnamon, half-and-half, vanilla extract, Texas Toast and of course, eggs. If you want to get extra eggy, substitute Texas Toast with Challah, a special, braided Jewish bread that’s made with eggs, flour, yeast, sugar and salt.
